DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS: CANTINA VALPANTENA FULL OF AWARDS

Five medals won by the Veronese cooperative. Also the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Torre del Falasco 2016 among the 36 Italian Platinum Awards

A shower of successes for Cantina Valpantena at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) 2021, a prestigious world-renowned wine competition that has reached its eighteenth edition this year: the cooperative from Quinto (Verona), which with the recent merger with Cantina di Custoza has given life to the Cantine di Verona group, which also includes Cantina Colli Morenici, has won five different awards. First of all, the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Torre del Falasco 2016, which won the Platinum Award, the most prestigious medal of the Decanter World Wine Awards, with a score of 97 points. Ruby-garnet red in color tending towards brick, obtained from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, the awarded Amarone is thus described by the jury of experts and professionals in the sector: "Extraordinary aromas of fruit bread, vanilla and spices, with a touch of tertiary and cherry. On the palate dark pulpy fruit, a creamy texture, well integrated and mellow tannins like chocolate, fresh acidity. Pleasant persistence with hints of coffee at the end”.

In addition to the Platinum Award with the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Torre del Falasco 2016, Cantina Valpantena also saw the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2018 awarded, which obtained the Silver Award with 93 points, the Ripasso Superiore della Valpolicella DOC Torre del Falasco 2019 and Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Torre del Falasco 2017, which also won the Silver Award with 91 points, while Apasio Premium Rosso Veronese IGT 2018 obtained the Bronze Award with 88 points.

“The results obtained at the Decanter World Wine Awards – explains Luigi Turco, president of Cantina Valpantena, as well as of Cantine di Verona – are a source of pride for us. An undisputed success that rewards the choices made so far by our reality: every day we are committed to improving the quality of our wines more and more, respecting the territory and the work of the members, representing and promoting the wines of the main Veronese denominations in the world".

In addition to the awards obtained at the Decanter World Wine Awards, Cantina Valpantena has also recently obtained another recognition with the Lugana DOC Torre del Falasco 2020, which was awarded 89 points in the Lugana und Custoza Trophy 2021 organized by Falstaff magazine.
